Tour 1: Egyptian WWII History Tour to El Alamein from Alexandria Port

The battle of El Alamein was one of the most significant confrontations in WWII. You will visit the WWII Cemetery and the Military Museum, which includes displays of tanks, military garb and weapons. The museum also houses descriptions of the actions of Rommel, Montgomery and others who participated in the El Alamein Battle.

You will be picked up from the Alexandria Port near your cruise exit door. Thereafter, you will enjoy an air-conditioned ride to experience El Alamein first-hand, a journey of 110 km from Alexandria.

The Military Museum will be your first stop. Thereafter, you will break for lunch and then continue to WWII Cemetery – located on a small peninsula overlooking the sea just west of the town. The citadel-like cemeteries are the final resting place for many soldiers including Greek, German, Italian and Common Wealth. After, you will enjoy an air-conditioned ride back to your cruise ship.

Tour 2: Package Delight: A Day Enjoying Sakkara, Dahshure and Memphis from Alexandria Port

You will visit many places on this fabulous tour. These include the Catacombs of Kum El Shukafa, Pompey’s Pillar, Qayetbay Citadel, the Alexandria Library, Morsey Abul Abbas mosque and Montazah Palace.

Catacombs of Kum El Shukafa

After you are picked up from the cruise exit door, you will start at the Catacombs of Kum El Shukafa. These date back to the early Roman period. Twelve years of searching finally paid off in 1900 when they were discovered. Thereafter, you will proceed to Pompey’s Pillar. It dates back to the 3rd century and is a 25m tall red Aswan granite column with a circumference of 9m. Pompey’s Pillar is the last remaining piece of the Seaphium Temple.

Your trip will continue to Qayetbay Citadel at the entrance to the eastern harbour of Alexandria where the famous Lighthouse once stood. Lunch is included in the tour at a local seafood restaurant.

Thereafter, on to the Alexandria Library where there is a copy of nearly every book published worldwide. The Alexandria Library is one of the greatest literary sites in the world. A short stop in front of the famous mosque of Morsy Abul Abbas is included. It is one of the most famous, as well as sacred, mosques in the world. Following, a relaxing walking tour around the Montazah Place and its Green Gardens will round out the tour. After all that, you will be transported back to your cruise.

Tour 3: Day Tour Package from Alexandria Port to Islamic and Coptic Cairo

A fabulous day trip to beautiful Cairo is on the agenda when we pick you up from your cruise exit door at Alexandria Port! You will be transported to Cairo – approximately 2? hours. The exciting sights of Coptic and Islamic Cairo are on the list.

Salah El Din Citadel

You will first see the Salah El Din Citadel where the Al Gowhara palace, built by Ottmanian and Mamluks, and Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque are. You will then go to the Museum of Gair Anderson and the Ibn Toloun Mosque. Thereafter, there will be lunch at a local establishment. Old Cairo is next where you will experience the Hanging Church – or Al Mo’allaka Church – the Roman fortress and then to the church which sheltered the holy family: Abu Serga Church. A tour of the Coptic Museum and its treasury collection rounds out the tour. You will then be transported back to your ship in Alexandria.

Tour 4: Day Tour to Rashid from Alexandria Port

Your tour starts when you are picked up at the cruise exit door. An air-conditioned vehicle will transport you to Rashid to visit historical and interesting places within the city. First, you will visit Qaitbey Fortress, which resembles the Citadel of Qaitbey in Alexandria. The Fortress was built in 901 A.H. by sultan Qaitbey, according to Ibn Elias.

Thereafter, tour the Rosetta National Museum, which is considered a landmark. The museum is housed inside an archaeological house, which dates back to the last half of the 18th century, passing other archaeological houses on the way, which reflects the heritage of the area. You will end the tour at the Nile Mouth to enjoy the River on a felucca and then be driven back to the cruise ship.
